The CSE Department of Narayana Engineering College organizes various events to keep up the morale of the students and faculty members and to keep them energized and uplifted. Workshops, Symposiums, Themed Celebrations and Career Guidance
Programs are organized regularly. Students from various other colleges are invited to give wider exposure to our students and to improve their outlook. Students are also motivated to assist in organizing such events and develop their soft skills and interpersonal skills in addition to what the curriculum has to offer.
A workshop on “Project Development using XCelerator” was organized by the CSE Department on 9th September 2017 at Visveswaraiah Auditorium, B Block in NEC, Nellore. Resource persons Mr. Aniruddha Kannal, CEO, Xcelerator, Hyderabad and Ms. Sreshta, Project Manager, Xcelerator, Hyderabad addressed the audience and gave them a demonstration of the capabilities of XCelerator platform for Project Development. Faculty members and third and final year B. Tech students of CSE department participated in the workshop.
Narayana Engineering College was one among a few colleges shortlisted for the event themed "Blockchain Hackathon” hosted by APITA (Andhra Pradhesh Information Technology Academy). The first level of the Hackathon was conducted in Narayana Engineering College Campus on 22nd and 23rd of September 2017. Mr. V. Prashanth, CTO, Hackmania Technology Pvt. Ltd, Hyderabad and Mr. K. Naveen, Software Developer, Hackmania Technology Pvt. Ltd, Hyderabad conducted a workshop on Blockchain technology on the 22nd of September 2017 as part of the Hackathon. Faculty members and final year B.Tech students participated in the workshop.
A Workshop on “Introduction to Microsoft Office” was conducted by the Department of CSE of NECN on 14th October 2017 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Srinivasa Ramanujan Seminar Hall. Dr. B. Geethavani, Head of the Department gave a starting address to the audience. Resource person, Mrs. Poojha Sampath, a faculty member of CSE Department, NEC Nellore conducted the workshop covering fundamentals of MS Office to the Non-Teaching staff of all departments of NECN.
A 4 Day workshop on “AppMania (Mobile Application Development) was organized by the Association of Computer Engineers (ACE) jointly with the Department of CSE from 25th October 2017 to 28th October 2017 in the Department of CSE, NEC, Nellore. Mr. Y. Vinay Kumar, Managing Committee Member, NECN, Dr. Prof. G. Srinivasulu Reddy, Principal, NECN, Dr. B. Geethavani, HOD, CSE Department., NECN addressed the audience and motivated them to bring out their skills with innovative thoughts. The event was aimed at nurturing mobile application development skills among the final year CSE students.
A two day workshop on Soft Skills was organized by the CSE Department from 8th to 9th January 2018 at Edison Auditorium in Narayana Engineering College, Nellore. The workshop was conducted by Andhra Pradesh Information Technology Academy. The workshop covered Vocabulary, Interview and Personality Development Skills. Students of third year B. Tech course participated in the workshop.
A 3 Day Workshop on “Hands on Training in IoT and Web Development” was organized by the CSE Department from 23rd January 2018 to 25th January 2018 at Srinivasa Ramanujam Auditorium, A Block, Narayana Engineering College, Nellore. The workshop was organized for the benefit of final year B.Tech students and was aimed at equipping the students with additional software development skills so as to make them industry ready. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Aniruddha Kannal (CEO) and his team from Xcelerator, Hyderabad.
A 3 Day Training on “Web Based Project Development” was organized by the CSE Department from 26th January 2018 to 28th January 2018 at Srinivasa Ramanujam Auditorium, A Block, Narayana Engineering College, Nellore. The workshop was organized for the benefit of third year B. Tech students and was aimed at exposing the students to projects involving latest technologies and demands of the industry along with the guidance of industrial experts and project guides. The program was conducted by Mr. Aniruddha Kannal (CEO) and his team from Xcelerator, Hyderabad.
The second episode of the Blockchain Hackathon, the Blockchain Hackathon Series II was organized by the CSE Department from 22nd to 23rd March 2018. The two day workshop was conducted at Visveswaraiah Auditorium of B Block and in Computer Lab 2 of A Block. Mr. Pankaj Diwan, MD, Idea labs, Hyderabad, Mr. Srikanth, and Mr. Karthikeyan, Idea labs, Hyderabad served as resource persons. Selected students of II, III and IV year participated in the workshop and learnt to use Ethereum and Solidity to build applications on the blockchain using Metamask add-on and Remix IDE. The students received hands on training and were also taught about the scope, importance and applications of Blockchain technology.
Fresher’s day was celebrated vibrantly in the CSE Department on 20th August 2017. The inauguration of the festival was started with lamp lighting by Prof. Dr. T. Swarnalatha and Prof. J.V.S.M. Raju. The fest was colorfully celebrated with interesting cultural programs including dance and vocal performances by students. The fresh engineering students of the first year introduced themselves and got themselves acquainted with the faculty members and other senior students of the CSE Department.
On the occasion of teachers’ day, the students of CSE Department organized an event under the banner of Association of Computer Engineers, CSE Department. Faculty members of CSE department were invited and felicitated by the students. The head of the department, Dr. Prof. B. Geethavani and Prof. J.V.S.M. Raju addressed the audience with their inspiring speech. Students expressed their gratitude to the teachers with tokens of gifts.
On the eve of Engineers’ Day on 15th September, 2017, the Association of Computer Engineers (ACE) organized an elocution competition for the students of the CSE Department. Many students participated in the competition and expressed their diversified views on the “Role of Engineers in the Society”. Outstanding performers were chosen by the judges and awarded with exceptional prizes. The event paved a way to encourage students to think about their role in the society and means of revolutionizing it.
On the World Ozone Day observed on 16th September 2017, the Association of Computer Engineers (ACE) organized skit performances and poster presentations in the CSE department. Students of second, third and final years of B. Tech course participated in the contests enthusiastically and came up with many innovative thoughts on ozone layer protection. Best themes and performances were appreciated with interesting prizes. Students were inspired and understood the importance of protecting the ozone layer
A Rally was organized by Narayana Engineering College as part of the World Space Week event from 7:30 am to 8:30 am on 7th October 2017. The Rally was aimed to bring awareness to the general populace about Indian Space Research and related opportunities. Students and Faculty members of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering actively participated in the Rally to benefit the public.
A themed celebration of “National Unity Day” was organized on the eve of the 142nd birthday of Sri. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on 31st October 2017 by the Association of Computer Engineers (ACE) jointly with the CSE Department. Sri. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and his achievements were commemorated on the day and various competitions were held. Winners were awarded with exciting prizes.
Students of CSE Department, Narayana Engineering College, Nellore participated in the Yuva Mahotsav 2K18 that was organized on 26th December 2017 at Narayana Engineering College, Nellore from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. The event was organized by Department of Youth Services, Government of Andhra Pradesh. The event began with a grand inauguration ceremony in the esteemed presence of eminent personalities including the Joint Additional Collector, Nellore, and the Director and Principal of Narayana Engineering College, followed by their valuable inputs to the students. Students from various colleges participated in the competitions conducted as part of the Youth Fest.
New Year 2018 began with a cake cutting ceremony and a joyful celebration at CSE department, Narayana Engineering College, Nellore. All faculty members of CSE department participated in the event and exchanged sweets, gifts and greetings to each other with great jubilation. Faculty members of CSE department also met the management team and warmly greeted them with gifts and hearty wishes.
“Girl Child Day” was celebrated in Narayana Engineering College on 24th January 2018 at C Block Auditorium. Distinguished ladies from different women empowerment groups were invited to render their discourse on the importance of girl children and their part in the society. Students and faculty members of CSE department attended the event.
A “Run for Republic” event was organized by the NSS Team on 26th January 2018 to celebrate the Republic Day. Students of CSE Department along with those of other departments ran along the important roads of Nellore to highlight the importance of Republic India. Students ran waving the flags in their hands and grabbed the attention of the public and spread awareness of the importance of the day among the general public by displaying banners with slogans praising the forerunners of India’s republic.
Alumni of CSE Department were invited for a meet on 27th January 2018 in Edison Auditorium. The alumni shared their work experiences with the students and faculty members. They also shed light on the expectations of the IT industry from the outgoing students. They motivated and inspired the students on working hard towards a good career track. The program was followed by a speech by the Management secretary of Narayana Engineering College, Mr. Vinay Kumar who welcomed, interacted with and thanked the alumni for attending the meeting.
On the eve of National Science Day, a webinar on “Journey to Cloud Simplified” was organized in the CSE Department on 28/02/2018. The event was organized in association with the Oracle Academy. Students of IV Year B. Tech course and faculty members of CSE department participated in the webinar.
CSE Department of NEC, Nellore organized Arohan – 2K18, a National Level Technical Symposium which started with a grand fervor on 17th March, 2018 at C Block Auditorium of Narayana Engineering College. The inauguration program started with a warm welcome to everyone and a striking Audio Visual that vividly captured the details of the CSE department. Subsequently, a colorful welcome dance was presented by the students of CSE department. The dignitaries were honored and lit up the lamp marking an auspicious beginning to the event. The Head of the CSE Department, Dr. B. Geethavani greeted the guests and addressed the gathering with a highlight on the achievements of the CSE department during the academic year 2017-2018, following which, the Principal addressed the gathering and emphasized on the importance of coming up with technological inventions that do not pollute the surroundings. The dignitaries Mr. Santhosh Pasupuleti, Executive Director, Morgan Stanley, USA and Mr. T. S. V, Ramana, CEO, Code Tantra, Hyderabad then addressed the gathering. Mr. Santhosh shared his experiences during his education and inspired the students to come out of their shells to explore and take up challenges in life by moving out of the “comfort zone” to reap success. Later Mr. Ramana in his speech, shared interesting experiences in his childhood and enthused the students to try out innovating with new ideas even while pursuing education. He said that the students need to develop entrepreneurship skills and that it is something most graduates don’t endeavor in India. Four different events were conducted namely, Paper Presentation, Poster Presentation, Technical Quiz and Coding Contest. Around 250 students participated in the Symposium in various events and were awarded with mementos and certificates. Participation Certificates were also awarded to all participants.
